Terms of Service

PLACEHOLDER -- NOT FINAL LEGAL TEXT

This page is a placeholder. The paragraphs below are here so the
Terms of Service page, the signup/join acceptance checkboxes, and the
re-acceptance flow can all be built and tested end-to-end -- but this is
not a real Terms of Service and should not be relied on as one.

Before this app is used by real customers, replace the contents of this
file (legal/terms.txt) with actual legal text reviewed by a lawyer,
covering things specific to a logistics operations tool like this one:
who owns the data entered here (driver records, DOT/CDL compliance
information, payroll figures, contracts), what happens to that data if
an account is closed, limits on liability if the software has a bug or
outage, how disputes get resolved, and termination terms.

How to replace this text:
Open this file in any text editor, delete everything below this line,
and paste in the real Terms of Service. Plain paragraphs are fine --
leave a blank line between paragraphs and it will be formatted
automatically. No code changes are needed for the text itself.

If the new terms are meaningfully different from whatever was here
before (not just a typo fix), also bump TERMS_VERSION by 1 near the top
of app.py. That's what makes every existing user get routed through the
"please re-accept" screen the next time they log in, instead of the new
terms silently applying to people who never saw them.
